Keep Debt Collectors in Line

Even if you have unpaid debts and have no way to pay them in the foreseeable future, it doesn’t mean that you should be under constant pressure and abuse from the debt collectors. These guys are known to be relentless and this is basically a good thing in their line of work, but for the one at the opposite end of the phone call, it can be downright infuriating. While they have a certain mandate, it is a known fact that most of the time the debt collectors cross the line by a mile if they think this will get them closer to their goal.
The question is how to stop collection calls and how to keep the debt collectors in line, when they clearly have no intention of stopping the abuse. First of all, you must know that their activity is strictly regulated, and you have plenty of rights that they have to respect. They can’t call you at any time of the day and night they like. They can only call at work if the employer is not against it, and they can’t harass your neighbors and relatives.
Even if all these things are prohibited, it is not unheard of for the debt collectors to pursuit such actions and this is when you have to take a firm stand. Notify the authorities or get free legal help online, from specialized companies which can teach you how to stop collection calls and any types of abuse. Arguably, the most effective way to put an end to any inconvenient phone calls is to send a stop calling letter to the collector who clearly states that you don’t want to receive any further calls from the debt collectors.
